Open Question: Wild Cougar Question?

I am Moving up in the mountains for a half a year or so. i have seen bobcats, cougars, bears, And sometimes wolfs. i hear a story that a cougar got into some persons cabin and killed them. I was wondering what should i do i have a cell phone that will get around 3 2 bars if i walk about a half mile from my house there is no guns in the cabin. i walk down to my neighbors to use the car (around a mile to there house) in the morning and sometimes at night. i was wondering what i should do if i happen to run into a cougar
