Second Playstation Nissan GT Academy champ wins class at Spa 24 Hour race

Jordan Tresson has successfully translated virtual skills to the real world racetrack

We've written quite a bit about the first virtual-to-real racer, Lucas Ordonez, and his continuing exploits as a successful professional racing driver. The winner of the first Playstation Nissan GT Academy in 2008, Lucas is now racking up first class results in the incredibly competitive ILMC series, finishing second in class in the Le Mans 24 hour last month. Now the legitimacy of the entire experiment has gained further credibility with the immediate success of the second Academy (2010) winner Jordan Tresson. Competing in the Blancpain Endurance Series, Jordan finished fourth at Monza in his first outing in the series and last Sunday, the RJN Motorsport GT4-class Nismo Nissan 370Z he shared with Alex Buncombe and Chris Ward won its class at the 24 hour race at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium's Ardennes region. The third (2011) GT academy winners are also shaping up as international class too... Continue Reading Second Playstation Nissan GT Academy champ wins class at Spa 24 Hour race

Open Question: I lost my pocket knife and can't find a replacement.?

I just got back from boy scout camp and I can't find my pocket knife anywhere. I'm trying to find the exact same knife to buy online.
It is completely a nickel/silver color, has a BSA logo on the bottom of the side of the blade, the blade is around 2-3 inches in length, it has only one blade, the back of the blade is pretty much flat, the blade locks, the handle has holes in it so you could somewhat see the blade when it's closed, the handle is a less wide at the end of it and isn't really round(it's more flat), I got it at a camp called Camp Whitsett which is located in the Sequoia National Forest in California, and it was fairly cheap.
I've tried google and I haven't found anything similar to it. It's not a Swiss Army knife, but %70 of the results are Swiss Army knives. It might not be an "official" BSA knife, but I'm pretty sure it has the BSA logo on it. For sure I know it was a circle-shaped logo with a something like the BSA logo... I might eMail the camp if I can't find it in a week.
I didn't lose it at Camp Whitsett, I just got it there. I lost it at Camp Fiesta Island in San Diego. I check the lost and found right before I left and they didn't have it. I emailed Whitsett to ask for the modle numbers of the pocket knives they have. If I can't find it I'll buy a Kershaw Zing, most likely this one: http://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-Zing-Knife/dp/B002IAJ35S/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_i

Photo of the Day: Lantern Raft On Trout Lake

A number of lanterns had gone out (it was raining earlier) so the raft wasn't as bright as it could have been.

Stuffed Shells

I went by the old apartment this afternoon. By myself, one last time. I said good-bye to the park in the front, and the big trees in the back. I think I'd have a harder time leaving, but we still have friends on the block, and I suspect it'll be no big deal to swing by and hang out on the steps on nice days. Up the street, the mountain of cardboard boxes is gone. That, and getting dinner on the table the first night in, felt great. Wayne loves stuffed shells - straight up, red sauced, ricotta-stuffed snails of baked deliciousness. It has been a while. And so that's what I made.

Stuffed Shells Recipe

Before I dive into the specifics related to dinner, I thought I'd share some snapshots I took in the new place the first afternoon. A few of the little details I crushed on hard when I first walked in. The apartment is old, pre-earthquake, but beautifully restored. I love the antique built-in mirrors, the miles of molding, and the etched glass above each doorway. The details are so interesting that I find myself wanting to keep some of the spaces nearly empty, to let the building just be. We'll see...

Stuffed Shells Recipe

Dinner. I admit, stuffed shells are a bit of a cheat for a first-night meal. I mean, I did all the prep ahead of time, and then drove the shells up the street in the backseat of the car. But, man, did they hit the spot after an incredibly long day. And it was no big deal to make them. Even though most of the kitchen was packed up, I made a quick pot of my favorite tomato sauce a couple days out. The day prior to the move, I made the ricotta filling, stuffed the shells and arranged them in a big baking dish. All I had to do is get them to the new apartment without dropping them, and wash a mixing bowl and spoon.

Before I let you loose with the recipe, a few notes. I do these shells with lemon zest in the filling and in the sauce. Not typical, but really tasty. I also love the pop of heat you get from the red pepper flakes in the sauce. I baked this batch of shells family-style, in one big pan. But, you can bake individual portions in ramekins, gratin dishes, or Staubs, if you like. Play around with the ricotta filling too - sometimes I add chopped olives, or chopped spinach, herbs, roasted seasonal vegetables, etc.
